Vadodara: After getting the status of a municipal corporation, the Anand civic body will, for the first time, start two English medium primary schools. A proposal to start new English medium primary schools at the cost of Rs 2.5 crore was approved by the state govt. The decision of the state govt comes after Anand's BJP MLA Yogesh Patel raised the demand to start English medium schools in the municipal corporation area for the benefit of students from low-income groups. Patel raised the demand for the primary schools after Anand municipal commissioner Milind Bapna presented the first budget of the newly formed Anand Municipal Corporation. The state govt recently sanctioned Rs 148 crore for development works in the Anand municipal limits. "The new primary schools will help girls and boys from humble families study in English medium from Classes 1 to 8 due to the decision taken by the state govt," said Patel. "
