Church in Suez supports Eid Al-Adha sacrifice initiative

In a significant interfaith gesture, Sheikh Mohamed Fathy Muslim, Director General of Da'wa, visited Suez's Church of the Martyr Mar Gerges Al-Roumany on Thursday, engaging with Bishop Anba Bemwa. The visit was conducted under the patronage of Minister of Endowments Dr. Osama Al-Azhary and directives from Suez's Undersecretary Sheikh Magued Rady Farag. During the visit, in a gesture embodying the profound meanings of love, brotherhood, and national cohesion, His Grace Anba Bemwa announced the purchase of two sacrifice bonds offered by the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments, valued at 19,000 Egyptian pounds. This act supports the charitable project, which aims to bring joy to underprivileged families during the blessed Eid al-Adha season. The statement clarified that this initiative falls within the context of Egypt's strong historical relations between the two wings of the nation—Muslims and Christians—which serve as a unique model of cohesion and coexistence. This step also reflects the commitment of religious institution leaders to embody the principles of brotherhood and national unity on the ground. Such efforts support national stability and affirm that all Egyptians, Muslims and Christians alike, are children of one homeland, united by a shared destiny and sincere belonging to this cherished land. 'May God protect Egypt, its people, and its leadership, and may the bonds of love and peace endure among its children.'
