Jelly sandals are officially summer's most fun and nostalgic trend, 11 of the best to shop now
Sound the comeback fashion klaxon: jelly sandals are the latest nostalgic shoe trend taking over this summer, following in the likes of wedges and gladiator sandals. After a brief resurgence in SS24, we didn't think the jelly shoes revival would last beyond one season. In fact, the trend has evolved in 2025 to include new silhouettes beyond the fisherman-esque ankle strap designs we wore when we were in single digits.
Blame (if you can call it that) for the initial jelly shoes resurgence lies solely with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It was, after all, The Row's spring/summer 2024 show in which models squeaked, squished and sashayed their way down the runway in a netted jelly slip-on. Leading this year's take on the trend is Chloé, with the French fashion house showcasing kitten-heel thong sandals in pastel-hued rubber PVC during spring/summer 2025 Paris Fashion Week, alongside an updated version of its stacked wooden platform wedges featuring a jelly upper.
High street brands have followed suit, with Ancient Greek Sandals reporting sales of over 11,000 units of jelly sandals since introducing the category into its extensive footwear collection. Similarly, Loeffler Randal's crystal-studded sparkly jellies sold out in practically minutes after founder Jessie Randall shared a snap of her modelling them on Instagram.
With so many jelly shoes available to shop now, it'd be rude not to dip our toe – literally – back into the look. Especially now it's bikini szn. A natural evolution to the mesh ballet flat trend, jelly sandals were made for rocky Mediterranean (or British, Cornwall can rival Cannes on its best day) beaches.
To help get you in your summer stride, we've rounded up the best jelly shoes, sandals and ballet flats in a variety of colourways and price points. Sparkles optional. Prepare to fall in love with jelly shoes all over again.
