Former UBS Banker Eyes Sale of Portugal Football Media Rights
Primeira Liga, the Portuguese football league, is planning to bundle its broadcasting rights for the first time by 2028, a move set to test the appetite for European football rights at a time when other markets have struggled.
Andre Amaral, a former UBS Group AG banker, is spearheading those efforts after being appointed chief executive officer of Liga Portugal in April. The 45-year-old joined one of the bodies of professional football in Portugal after more than two decades working in investment banking and global markets for Credit Suisse and UBS in New York, London, Madrid and Lisbon.
