Officers arrest and identified robbery and DUI suspect in Galt
( — The Galt Police Department has identified the suspect after responding to a robbery at a business on Saturday night in Sacramento County.
According to GPD, the incident happened near Twin Cities Road and East Stockton Boulevard in Galt. The suspect has been identified as Andrei Mendez, 19, of Galt, who had fled from the officers in a car.
Suspect named in a police pursuit that was linked to a domestic violence incident
After the suspect fled from the officers, a short pursuit was initiated and quickly was canceled for public safety purposes, GPD said.
After a while, GPD stated that Mendez was arrested for robbery, reckless evading, hit-and-run DUI, driving on a suspended license for DUI, resisting arrest, and battery.
'Once again, this arrest reflects our continued commitment to protect our citizens and serve the community with diligence and integrity,' GPD said.
