FREEPORT, Ill. (WTVO/WQRF) — The Big Northern Conference champion Byron Tigers have been impressive all season. Saturday in Freeport they posted another impressive win by knocking off NIC-10 leader Freeport 15-2 in a five-inning Nolan Brass led the way for the Tigers. He had four hits in four at-bats including a home run. He drove in five runs. He also was the winning pitcher. He went four innings giving up two runs on four hits while striking out four Talbert, playing shortstop, had a pair of hits, a walk, a stolen base, he scored three runs, and he drove in two runs. They won their 23rd straight game Tuesday by blanking the second-place team in the BNC North Boone was senior night for the Tigers, but sophomore Andrew Talbert was the big story.
