Missing KCK man's body is found in Missouri River, according to police

The body of a Kansas City, Kansas, man who had been missing for almost a month was found in the Missouri River on Thursday. Kansas City, Missouri Police and Fire Departments were called to 7808 East Levee Road for a reported body in the Missouri River. On Friday, the body was positively identified as Brandon Anfinson, according to Nancy Chartrand, spokesperson for the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department. Anfinson, 39, went missing from his home in the 1300 block of S. 35th Street in Kansas City, Kansas, on March 21, police said. Anfinson's death is now being investigated by Kansas City, Kansas police's major case unit. Anfinson owned his own business, A1 Construction, was a father of three children, and had been married for 20 years, according to a family member who previously spoke with The Star. A GoFundMe for the family had raised almost $3,000 as of Friday evening. 'This is not the update we ever wanted or expected to write. Our hearts are broken, and the pain of this loss is unimaginable,' a statement from the GoFundMe reads. 'Brandon was [a] deeply loved son, a husband, a friend and his presence brought light into the lives of so many. We are beyond grateful to everyone who has supported this fundraiser. KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department confirmed on Friday that a body pulled from the Missouri River on Thursday has been positively identified as 39-year-old Brandon Anfinson. Anfinson's family reported him missing from his home in the Argentine neighborhood of KCK on March 21. KCKPD said since that time, law enforcement, family, friends and the community have conducted extensive searches of the area for him. On Thursday, Kansas City, Missouri Police and fire departments were called to 7808 E. Levee Road on a report of a body in the Missouri River. Apr. 8—The Austin Public Schools Special Services department hired Pam Anfinson as the district's new Elementary Special Education Supervisor. "Austin Public Schools is excited to welcome Pam Anfinson back to the district as Elementary Special Education Supervisor," said Executive Director of Special Services Sheri Willrodt. "Pam was a long-time teacher and special education leader in our district prior to leaving the district three years ago to gain administrative experience. She will be a great asset to our elementary team." Anfinson has worked in special education for more than 20 years, most recently as the director of Early Learning for Albert Lea Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE), a Master of Education in Math & Science, and a Director of Special Education Specialist in Educational Leadership Administrative License from Minnesota State University Moorhead. "I am deeply grateful to the Austin School District for providing me with the opportunity to continue pursuing my passion for Special Education," said Anfinson. "I am excited to extend my commitment to supporting our elementary students and staff. By prioritizing open communication and collaboration, I aim to foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where every individual feels valued and heard. KCK police continue search for missing 39-year-old father

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department is continuing to ask the public for help in locating a 39-year-old man who hasn't been seen in nearly two weeks. KCKPD said , sometime between the hours of 5 a.m. and 9 a.m. from his home in the area of S. 35th Street and Powell Avenue in the Argentine neighborhood. SUV crashes into home in northeast Kansas City; driver taken to hospital As of Wednesday, April 2, KCKPD tells FOX4 there have been no new developments. Anfinson is described as standing 5'11' and weighs 160 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes and multiple tattoos. On his forearm, he has a tattoo of a baby girl with the words 'God's gift,' as well as another tattoo of a baby girl with two doves. On his right forearm, police said he has a tattoo of a baby boy with a clock and again the words 'God's Gift.' The family believes he may have been wearing a long-sleeved, black thermal shirt with an imprint of the logo 'A1' on the front. KCKPD said family and authorities are concerned for Anfinson's well-being as he left behind personal items, including vital prescription medication.
