Kentucky Derby 2025: Who did Mattress Mack bet on?
It wouldn't be a major sporting event without Mattress Mack, and there a few events each year the Houston furniture store magnet loves more than the Kentucky Derby.
That being said, he hasn't had the best luck at Churchill Downs recently. Mack — his real name is Jim McIngvale — lost a $1.5 million bet in 2022 when his pick of Epicenter finished in second place. Mack lost again in 2023 after putting another $1.2 million on Angel of Empire, who finished third.
So who did Mack bet on for the 151st running of the Kentucky Derby?
Well, we don't know yet. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if he sits out the Derby altogether this year after he lost $1.5 million betting on Texas to win the College Football Playoff as well as another $500,000 lost on Texas to win the SEC championship.
If Mack has another signature arrival in Louisville on Saturday, we'll be all over it.
