Keerthy Suresh's Uppu Kappurambu gears up for OTT premiere in July
Actor Keerthy Suresh's upcoming Telugu film titled, 'Uppu Kappurambu' finally has a release date. The film will premiere directly on OTT. On Monday, the makers announced that the coming-of-age satire film will stream on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide on June by Ani IV Sasi, 'Uppu Kappurambu' features Keerthy Suresh, Suhas, Babu Mohan, Shatru, and Talluri Rameshwari in prominent roles. The film is produced by Radhika Lavu under the banner of Ellanar Films Pvt Ltd. Shot originally in Telugu, it will also be dubbed in in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada on the OTT platform.'Uppu Kappurambu' revolves around the fictional village of Chitti Jayapuram, which is grappling with escalating pressures on its burial infrastructure. Although the film talks about a societal issue, it is replete with quirks, wittiness and humorous Director Ani IV Sasi, in a statement, expressed that the film draws from a world he has long wanted to bring to the screen. He gave a sneak peek into the cinematic world and said that the film is set against the backdrop of a rural life in the 90s."It uses satire and humour to explore how ordinary people navigate extraordinary situations with limited means but an unbreakable spirit," he said. The director also expressed the film is "a sincere attempt to blend comedy with meaningful commentary, brought to life by an incredible cast and crew."Director and Head of Originals of Prime Video, Nikhil Madhok, added, "Uppu Kappurambu is a thought-provoking, yet delightfully quirky satire that captures the essence of an authentic rural milieu whilst bringing to the fore an unconventional theme."Keerthy Suresh has established her acting mettle in Tamil and Telugu films. She began her career as a child actor in early 2000. Years later, she went on to win one National Film Award and two Filmfare awards South for her portrayal of Savitri in the biopic 'Mahanati'. She won another Filmfare award for the film 'Dasara'. The actor will be seen in the upcoming films 'Revolver Rita' and 'Kannivedi'.
