A fire erupted in an Ajmer hotel located in the busy Diggi Bazaar, resulting in the tragic deaths of four people, including a young child AJMER: At least four people died and several others were injured after a fire broke out in a hotel located in Diggi Bazaar , a congested area of Ajmer, on Thursday morning. Among the deceased was a child. More than eight people were taken to JLN Hospital, with four reported to be in critical condition. The blaze which began around 8 am on the fourth floor of the building, quickly spread to the fifth floor. In the panic, guests were seen jumping from windows to escape. In a desperate attempt to save her child, a mother threw her 3-year-old son from her room to get him away from the flames. Rescue teams, including the district administration and emergency services, reached the scene promptly. Nearby shops and hotels were evacuated as a precaution, causing widespread panic in the area. 'Eight people were brought in critical condition, out of which four died, while four remain in critical condition. According to officials, one of the deceased was identified as Mohammad Jahid (40), a resident of Moti Nagar , Delhi. The other victims include a woman aged around 30, a 20-year-old youth, and a 40-year-old man—whose identities are being verified. The critically injured have been identified as Ibrahim, Krishna, Alka, and Dhavan . Additional District Collector Gajendra Singh Rathore and other senior officials visited the site. Police also arrived to control the crowd and assist with evacuations in the densely populated area. Preliminary reports suggest that the fire may have started due to a malfunction in an air conditioner unit.
