19 B.C. restaurants make annual list of Canada's 100 best

The 2025 list of Canada's 100 best restaurants is out, and 19 establishments from British Columbia made the cut. B.C. is home to two of the top 10, four of the top 20 and 11 of the top 50 restaurants on the list, which is compiled annually by the magazine Canada's 100 Best. Vancouver accounted for most of the province's entries, with 14 of B.C.'s 19 top restaurants located in the province's largest city, including all four of the B.C. eateries that made the top 20. Published on Main and AnnaLena took the number nine and 10 spots on the list, overall, with St. Lawrence at number 12 and Kissa Tanto at number 18. All four of those establishments were among the eight Vancouver-area restaurants that received a Michelin star when the world-famous guide debuted in the city in 2022. They also all made the top 20 in last year's list. One Vancouver restaurant also made Canada's 100 Best's list of the top 10 new restaurants in the country. Elem placed number 10 on that list and number 99 overall. Outside of Vancouver, two restaurants located in Richmond made the list this year, along with two on Vancouver Island and one in Whistler. Each judge submits a list of their top 10 restaurant experiences of the previous year, with points assigned to restaurants for each ballot they make and weighted heavily based on their position on each judge's list. There were a total of 160 voting judges this year, which the magazine says is an all-time high. It also says the judges are spread across the country in numbers 'proportional' to the population of each province and region.
