Join the cause to bring warmth to elderly people through donations
Join the cause to bring warmth to elderly people through donations The mission to provide warmth and comfort to the less fortunate through donations of blankets and warm clothes continues. The warmth drive recently launched by WITBANK NEWS is making good progress as a number of people have been stopping by to drop off warm items as a gentle gesture of care toward our elderly people. 'We really thank the people who have already brought in some warm items for our winter drive,' Annatjie du Toit, WITBANK NEWS advertising representative and leader of the project, said. The public is urged to continue with the same spirit of giving and dropping off more warm items for the elderly people who can't afford to buy. The items already donated include beanies, socks, and jackets. 'Please open up your hearts so we can care for our elderly people in eMalahleni,' Annatjie said. You can be part of this project by dropping off blankets, jackets, gloves, socks, and scarves at the WITBANK NEWS office at 2 Lana Street in Model Park. WITBANK NEWS will continue to post regular updates on social media and in print about the progress of the project. Sudden winter chill sparks community action: WITBANK NEWS launches warmth drive
All of a sudden the mercury plummeted and winter is here. This sudden shift in seasons has highlighted the realities faced by many in our community. While some are fortunate enough to retreat into warm homes, shielded by adequate clothing and heating, others are not afforded such luxuries. The bitter cold makes the less fortunate more vulnerable. In a call for empathy, WITBANK NEWS is embarking on a project to collect blankets and warm clothes for the less fortunate. Driving this project, WITBANK NEWS advertising representative, Annatjie du Toit, said, 'This drive is an opportunity to contribute to a cause that directly impacts our community, transforming acts of kindness into much-needed warmth.' You can be part of this project by dropping off blankets, jackets, gloves and scarfs at the WITBANK NEWS office at 2 Lana Street in Model Park. WITBANK NEWS will post regular updates on social media and in print about the progress of the project. On July 4, the WITBANK NEWS staff will be at the Gereformeerde Kerk Hoëveld's golf day at Witbank Golf Club. You are also welcome to drop winter woollies off on the day and pop in for a chat.
