Baltimore man charged with murder after wife's body found in Anne Arundel County
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. () — Police said a Baltimore man was charged with murder after his wife's body was discovered in Brooklyn Park last week. Minutes after 9 a.m. on May 23, officers with the Anne Arundel County Police Department were called to the area of Disney Road and Alley 79 for a report of a dead body. There, police found 44-year-old Sarah Elizabeth Bundy, of Baltimore, suffering from trauma to her body. Detectives investigating after human remains found inside burning car in Anne Arundel County Homicide detectives responded to the scene and collected evidence. Their investigation revealed that Bundy's husband, 49-year-old Cedric Dion Calloway, was allegedly connected with her death. On the same day, detectives received an arrest warrant for Calloway, charging him with murder. Bundy's death remains under investigation. 2 teenage boys, man in custody after shots fired incident in Anne Arundel County
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. () — Two teenage boys and a man are in custody after shots were fired in Anne Arundel County on Monday afternoon, according to officials. The Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office (AACOPD) said that around 3 p.m., a deputy was working detail when units with the Anne Arundel County Police Department were dispatched to a shots-fired and weapons threat in the area. Once on the scene, police arrested two people and charged them with assault. Man found shot multiple times in Waldorf; investigation underway Deputies said that as the investigation unfolded, a minivan, believed to be connected to the incident, tried to leave the area, but was pulled over. During the traffic stop, the van collided with the deputy's patrol vehicle. That's when multiple people exited the van and started running. Following a brief foot chase, authorities took a suspect into custody. According to the sheriff's office, the suspect had a Glock 9 mm handgun on them, and a second gun was discovered in the van. Police searching for missing 90-year-old man with early-onset dementia in Anne Arundel County
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. () — Anne Arundel County police are asking for the community's help in searching for a missing 90-year-old man, with early-onset dementia. The Anne Arundel County Police Department said that Eugene Relias George was last seen around 2:30 p.m. on March 6 in the 7800 block of Bastille Place in Severn. Multiple families displaced after townhouse fire in Montgomery Village Police described George as around 5'10″ tall at 185 lbs. He was last seen wearing a blue New York Yankees jacket and black sweatpants with a Yankees logo. Anne Arundel County police said he drives a gold Ford Ranger with the Maryland registration A075044. Police searching for man accused of robbing adult store with machete in Brooklyn Park
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. () — Police in Anne Arundel County are searching for a man who allegedly robbed an adult entertainment store while holding a machete on Monday. The Anne Arundel County Police Department said the robbery happened around 11 a.m. on March 3 at the Lion's Den on Ritchie Highway in Brooklyn Park. Man shot in face overnight in Lexington Park, deputies say Once on the scene, officers learned that the man had entered the store and several minutes later approached the counter. That's when he pulled out a long machete-style knife from his pants and demanded the employee give him money from the register, according to police. The employee complied and the man ran from the store. Anne Arundel County police shows off new state-of-the-art Real-time Information Center
BALTIMORE -- The Anne Arundel County Police Department introduced its new state-of-the-art Real-time Information Center (RTIC) aimed at enhancing public safety and revolutionizing crime prevention. The public on Tuesday got to view the center and learn how it operates. RITC has been in a testing phase since last summer, and according to Anne Arundel County Police Chief Amal Awad, it has already proven helpful in at least 200 incidents. "Providing officers with critical information prior to their arrival on scene, following up on intelligence to interrupt a threat or providing key evidence to solve an investigation," Awad said. How the RTIC works Anne Arundel County's new Real-time Information Center is a hub of advanced technology, including real-time situational awareness platforms, CCTV and license plate readers, and data analytics to monitor critical incidents in real-time. The RTIC team provides officers with instant, actionable intelligence so they can proactively address crime, mitigate public safety threats and improve emergency response times. RTIC already has access to more than 1,300 public camera feeds, and through a new program called Community Connect, neighbors can volunteer access to their own security cameras. RITC commander Lt. Brian Carney demonstrated how RTIC helped officers quickly apprehend carjacking suspects in Glen Burnie in August 2024. "RTIC team continued to monitor CCTV footage following the suspects until they moved out of camera range," Carney said. "While this is going on, the RTIC is coordinating with MTA to hold this lite rail train. In addition, real-time information was relayed to officers on the ground, helping with the investigation." Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman says the $1.5 million center is an asset to the police department and its ability to protect residents. "The Real-Time Information Center is looking on these screens and looking at cameras that are in businesses, and in real-time, advising these officers," Pittman said. "This definitely helps tremendously with the officers' safety and security and also with the community," added Faith Woodard, RTIC Data Analyst.
