2 teenage boys, man in custody after shots fired incident in Anne Arundel County
ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. () — Two teenage boys and a man are in custody after shots were fired in Anne Arundel County on Monday afternoon, according to officials.
The Anne Arundel County Sheriff's Office (AACOPD) said that around 3 p.m., a deputy was working detail when units with the Anne Arundel County Police Department were dispatched to a shots-fired and weapons threat in the area.
Once on the scene, police arrested two people and charged them with assault.
Man found shot multiple times in Waldorf; investigation underway
Deputies said that as the investigation unfolded, a minivan, believed to be connected to the incident, tried to leave the area, but was pulled over.
During the traffic stop, the van collided with the deputy's patrol vehicle. That's when multiple people exited the van and started running.
Following a brief foot chase, authorities took a suspect into custody.
According to the sheriff's office, the suspect had a Glock 9 mm handgun on them, and a second gun was discovered in the van.
The deputy involved in the collision was taken to the hospital for evaluation and released a few hours later.
