Michael Heseltine: My weaknesses? Jags and Jelly Babies
Lord Heseltine was a leading figure in the governments of Margaret Thatcher and John Major. A property developer turned publisher, he co-founded the Haymarket Media Group in 1957, and stepped down as chairman in 2023.
The 91-year-old was a Conservative MP from 1966 to 2001 and served as secretary of state for the environment twice, secretary of state for defence, and secretary of state for trade and industry, before taking the role of deputy prime minister from 1995-97.
He and his wife, Anne, who have three grown-up children, divide their time between their Thenford, Northamptonshire, country house and their flat in London.
