Edinburgh Airport launches new summer flights to stunning European destination

More info Edinburgh Airport is offering new direct flights from the Scottish capital to Vienna, with the first ever Austrian Airlines flights from the airport. The airline will operate three weekly flights this summer from Scotland's busiest airport. Flights will depart on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays on an Airbus A320 aircraft, with services running until September. The new route offers new connectivity between Edinburgh and the iconic European capital. Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive of Edinburgh Airport said: 'We're pleased to welcome Austrian Airlines to Edinburgh Airport and to add another fantastic airline partner to our network. 'It's a brilliant link between two beautiful capital cities – each with its own rich culture, proud heritage, and love of a good tune. 'We look forward to seeing passengers take full advantage of this exciting new connection throughout the summer.' Annette Mann, Chief Executive Officer of Austrian Airlines said: 'Austrian Airlines remains committed to continuously expanding its route network with new destinations in the summer schedule 2025. We see a continuing trend in Austria to look for summer holiday destinations in cooler climes. 'From 3 June to 27 September 2025, the red-white-red airline will fly from Vienna to the Scottish capital Edinburgh every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. 'Edinburgh is a tip for all city trip fans and offers an attractive and fun mix of history, culture, architecture, and festivals, as well as a lively and colourful pub scene. For those with a bit more time, it is the ideal and uncomplicated starting point for tours in the Low, Mid, or even Highlands – all with moderate temperatures, a cool sea breeze, and the occasional typical rain shower even in high summer. With headlines swirling about tourists denied entry into the U.S., Austrian Airlines CEO Annette Mann is stepping in to reframe the narrative. When fear threatens bookings, data can help limit the damage. Austrian Airlines CEO Annette Mann is pushing back on 'exaggerated (social) media stories' about travel to the United States. In a colorful LinkedIn post published on Thursday morning, Mann sought to address anxiety among some inbound travelers about crossing the U.S. border. 'There is no need [to] fear a randomly denied entry,' she said. The chief executive's intervention follows a series of high-profile reports of visitors facing problems when attempting to enter the United States. Mann started her post with a question: 'Do you see any increases in denied entries at the U.S. border? This was probably one of the most asked questions I got over the last few weeks, fueled by 'stories' that went viral in some media channels and social feeds. Short answer for the busy people amongst you: we see #nochange!,' As previously reported by Skift, the process for foreign visitors applying to enter the U.S. has not changed significantly. The larger issue is alleged intensified enforcement of rules at the border. Under l
