Pike Co. man killed; man and child injured in two-vehicle crash
PIKE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A deadly crash on Friday afternoon in Pike County has killed a Brundidge man.
Troopers say Anquavious D. Walker, 25, of Brudidge was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided head-on with an SUV driven by Adrian Vernon, 43, of Covington, Ga.
Officials say Walker was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene. Also in the car with Walker was a 2-year-old child, who was injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Vernon was injured in the crash and transported to a hospital in Dothan for treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama 125 near the 23-mile marker, approximately seven miles south of Brundidge, in Pike County.
ALEA's Highway Patrol Division will continue to investigate, but does not plan to release any new information at this time.
