Yemen's Houthis strike Israel's Ben Gurion

Shafaq News – Sanaa On Friday, Yemen's Ansarallah (Houthis) launched a hypersonic ballistic missile at Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv. In a statement, the group's military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the strike was carried out using a 'Palestine 2' missile, successfully hitting its target, disrupting airport operations, and sending civilians scrambling to shelters. Saree framed the attack as a response to Israeli 'genocidal crimes' in the Gaza Strip, vowing further escalation until Israel ends its military campaign and lifts the siege on Gaza. بيان القوات المسلحة اليمنية بشأن تنفيذ عملية عسكرية نوعية استهدفت مطار اللد في منطقة يافا المحتلة وذلك بصاروخ باليستي فرط صوتي نوع فلسطين2. — العميد يحيى سريع (@army21yemen) July 18, 2025 Earlier, the Israeli air forces announced in a post on X that it had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen. חיל-האוויר יירט טיל אחד ששוגר מתימן, בהמשך להתרעות שהופעלו לפני זמן קצר במספר מרחבים בשטח המדינה.ההתרעות הופעלו על פי מדיניות. — Israeli Air Force (@IAFsite) July 18, 2025 According to Israeli media outlets, the strike triggered sirens across central Israel, including the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, the Sharon region, the Shephelah lowlands, and areas surrounding Jerusalem. Houthi leader: Israel pursuing four strategic objectives in Syria

Shafaq News – Sanaa On Thursday, Houthi (Ansarallah) leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi framed Israel's intensified airstrikes in Syria as part of a 'calculated strategy' to reshape the regional balance of power. In a televised address, he laid out four objectives, the first being the 'normalization of unprovoked aggression' — strikes carried out repeatedly and without military retaliation. The second centers on Israel's role in Syria's internal affairs. "By presenting itself as a protector of the Druze and other minorities, Israel capitalizes on the sectarian conduct of certain armed factions," al-Houthi said, referencing recent events in Suwayda. A third objective, he added, involves carving out a buffer zone deep within Syrian territory, extending toward Damascus and justified under vague 'security classifications.' Finally, al-Houthi argued that Israel seeks to restrict Syria's sovereignty — from weapons development and foreign alliances to political direction — in order to cement long-term dominance. He cited Israel's expanding military footprint as evidence of these ambitions, pointing to more than eight Israeli bases in northern Quneitra connected by a fortified corridor near the capital.

Houthis launch dual drone strikes on Israel

Shafaq News - Sanaa Yemen's Houthis (Ansarallah) carried out a dual military operation against Israel, using three drones, the group announced on Tuesday. In a statement, Yahya Saree, the group's military spokesperson, said two drones struck what he described as an 'important' military site in the Negev region, while a third targeted the Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) port in southern Israel, confirming that the attacks 'successfully' achieved their objectives. #معركة_الفتح_الموعود_والجهاد_المقدس — العميد يحيى سريع (@army21yemen) July 15, 2025 Saree described the assault as part of the group's response to the Israeli 'genocide' in Gaza, where Israeli hostilities have killed over 58,000 people, mostly women and children, vowing that 'our operations will continue until the aggression against Gaza stops and the siege is lifted.' The Israeli military has yet to comment on the incident. The latest strike comes days after a similar attack on Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, which the Houthis have repeatedly targeted. The group has also intensified maritime operations in the Red Sea, attacking ships it considers connected to Israel.

Houthis release video of Red Sea attack on 'Magic Seas' vessel

Shafaq News – Sanaa Yemen's Houthis (Ansarallah) on Tuesday released footage via their military media showing the moment they attacked and sank the commercial vessel Magic Seas in the Red Sea. The footage begins with Houthi fighters communicating with the ship's crew and ordering it to stop. It then shows the subsequent strike and boarding operation that led to the vessel's eventual sinking. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack yesterday, stating that Magic Seas was targeted with two unmanned explosive boats, five cruise missiles, and three drones. The United Arab Emirates confirmed that the Svenbrism, a vessel owned by Abu Dhabi Ports Group, responded to a distress call from Magic Seas following the attack. In a statement, the UAE Foreign Ministry said the rescue operation successfully saved all 22 crew members, including security personnel. The Houthis have launched multiple maritime and aerial attacks in recent months targeting ships and sites linked to Israel. The group says the campaign is a direct response to Israel's continued military operations in Gaza.

Houthis target Magic Seas vessel in Red Sea

Shafaq News – Sanaa Yemen's Houthi Movement (Ansarallah) targeted the commercial vessel Magic Seas in the Red Sea, accusing it of violating a ban on docking at Israeli ports. In a statement, military spokesperson Yahya Saree said the attack was carried out using two explosive-laden boats, five ballistic and cruise missiles, and three drones, claimeing that the ship belongs to a company dealing with Israel, and is now at risk of sinking. The Houthis stated that the vessel's crew had been allowed to evacuate safely, but only after refusing repeated warnings from the group's naval forces. Saree warned that any ship affiliated with companies that engage with Israel would be considered a legitimate target. 'This operation reaffirms the continued enforcement of the naval blockade on Israeli-linked shipping in the Red and Arabian Seas,' the statement read. Ameen Hayyan (@AminHian) July 7, 2025 The attack comes one day after a separate strike hit a Liberian-flagged vessel in the Red Sea, causing fires and flooding that forced the crew to abandon ship. The UK Maritime Trade Operations agency confirmed the crew was later rescued. Earlier on Monday, the Houthis also claimed responsibility for a major missile and drone barrage targeting Israeli sites, including Ben Gurion Airport, Ashdod Port, Eilat Port, and a power station in Ashkelon. The group said the strikes were in retaliation for Israeli air raids on key infrastructure in Yemen's Hodeidah, Ras Issa, and Salif ports, as well as the Ras Kathib power station. The Houthis have repeatedly declared their attacks in the Red Sea and on Israeli sites as part of what they call a "practical response" to Israel's ongoing military campaign in Gaza.
