Kharif awareness drive launched in Buxar
Buxar: District magistrate Anshul Aggrawal launched district-level 'kharif abhiyan', 2025 on Thursday with a training-cum-workshop at the agriculture centre at Itadhi. The DM said that block-level 'kharif mahabhiyan' will run from May 26 to June 1, followed by kisan chaupal at the panchayat-level from June 2 to 21. The goal of the campaign is to inform the farmers about the latest farming practices, enabling them to adopt climate-resilient agricultural methods in the face of challenges such as floods and droughts. As part of the campaign, training sessions will cover a wide range of topics, including climate-friendly agriculture cultivation of coarse grains, kharif maize, baby corn, and sweet corn, subsidies for Shankar paddy seeds and promotion of aromatic rice varieties under all-round development of two model panchayats in each district under the Adarsh Panchayat Yojana Yuva Kisan Karyakram. The district has set a kharif coverage target of 1,01,353 hectares, comprising 96,923 hectares for paddy, 3,849 hectares for maize, and 580 hectares for pigeon pea, among others. All block agriculture officers, coordinators, and farmer advisors have been tasked with achieving this target through coordinated efforts. Delay in crematorium construction irks DM
Buxar: Buxar DM Anshul Aggrawal on Thursday conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of Moksha Dham , a cremation ground at Charitra Van in Buxar, and expressed displeasure over the sluggish pace of the project exceeding its scheduled completion date by over a year, only 6-7 workers were found on site. Buxar tops public service delivery ranking for 8th time in a row
Buxar: Buxar district has secured the top spot in Bihar's public service delivery ranking for the eighth consecutive time. According to the latest rankings released by the Bihar Administrative Reforms Mission Society in March 2025, Buxar achieved 89.992 marks out of 100. Bhagalpur got second place and Jehanabad third. This ranking is based on parameters such as service delivery within the time limit, execution of filed appeals, recovery of imposed penalty amounts, and inspection of public service centres. "We are committed to providing timely services to the common people. A review meeting with govt officials is held every month to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of public services, said Buxar DM Anshul Aggrawal on Tuesday.
