DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A local man has pleaded guilty in federal court after intending to distribute bulk amounts of meth. The US. Court Southern District of Ohio announced 24-year-old Antel Braden has pled guilty to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute bulk amounts of methamphetamine. Man pleads guilty to selling counterfeit items at local mall kiosk Court records show in August 2024, Braden was the intended recipient of a postal package containing more than 3 kilograms of methamphetamine. Law enforcement intercepted the package and replaced the drugs with sham narcotics before delivering the drugs to Braden. Upon receiving the sham drugs, Braden began driving to another location to pick up his brother and alleged co-conspirator. Police attempted to perform a traffic stop on Braden's vehicle on E. Dorothy Lane, but he tried to flee, causing a crash at Stroop Road that left both vehicles significantly damaged. The brothers threw the sham narcotics out the window and attempted to flee the scene on foot. Both were arrested by law enforcement soon after. A Dayton man pleaded guilty in court Friday to a bulk methamphetamine conspiracy, the United States Attorney of the Southern District of Ohio said in a press release. The package was intercepted and law enforcement swapped the drugs with fakes before having an undercover agent deliver it, according to the release. Law enforcement made an attempt to stop Antel Braden on E. Dorothy Lane, when he fled. Braden ran a red light, causing a crash and damaging both vehicles, according to the release. The fake methamphetamine was thrown from the vehicle and both brothers tried to run from the scene before being arrested, the release says. Antel Braden pleaded guilty to conspiring to possess with intent to distribute bulk amounts of methamphetamine. Antel Braden has not received his sentencing, but could face 20 years in prison.
