Anthony Anderson's home has been broken into. The 'Black-ish' actor wasn't at the property in the Encino area of Los Angeles when three people got into the abode on Sunday (18.05.25) but cops are currently investigating the incident. Anthony confirmed to KABC it was his primary home that was broken into, and he was in Palm Springs for a fundraiser for his foundation, raising money for students at his former college Howard University when he heard the news. Police say no one has been arrested yet and it is not clear if anything was stolen. Detectives within the LAPD told the outlet burglary crews often don't know whose home they are in but it is often highly likely they belong to celebrities because they target large and expensive houses. The 54-year-old actor graduated from university in 2022 after originally having dropped out when he was young due to financial reasons, but was inspired to return to school after his son Nathan was accepted into Howard University in Washington, D.C. And Anthony later admitted completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Chadwick A. Boseman College of Fine Arts was one of his "proudest" moments, though he was also hit with anxiety before collecting his diploma. He said he was worried "as my name was being called, some school official would come over to me and say, 'We're sorry to inform you at this late moment but you're one credit short, so we're not going to be able to let you walk across the stage', or that I failed my final exam in one of my classes." Afterwards, the 'We Are Family' host went out clubbing with a "bunch of 22 year olds" and his son and refused to be out-partied by his fellow graduates. He told People magazine: "I celebrated by going to a club called 'Brooklyn' on U street with my son, my best friend Jerry a.k.a. 'Skinnyboy' and several HU 2022 graduates. "We partied 'till 4am – and for the record, I still got it! I was not going to be out-partied by a bunch of 22-year-olds! "Between you and me, I felt it the next morning, but that night I partied like a rock star."

Actor Anthony Anderson's Encino home was broken into by a burglary crew on Sunday night, according to law enforcement sources. Three men broke in but it's unclear what was stolen, the sources said. Nobody has been arrested. Anderson is the latest big-name celebrity to have their Southern California home burglarized. Los Angeles Police Department detectives told ABC News that often the burglary crews don't even know whose home they are in, but odds are the lavish homes they target will belong to a celebrity because it's Los Angeles. On Valentine's Day, burglars broke into Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's Los Angeles home, according to sources. The A-list couple was not home at the time, but the home was ransacked before the group took off. Another A-list couple, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, had their guest home broken into last August. The burglars did not enter the actors' main home, but the couple was not home at the time anyway, sources said. Anderson has had a lengthy career in Hollywood. including a leading role on the sitcom "Black-ish" from 2014 to 2022. He also had a long run on "Law & Order." He's also appeared in movies such as "Barbershop," "Hustle & Flow" and the recently released "G20" alongside Viola Davis.

NHL's 2025 ‘Stanley Pup' Rescue Dog Competition To Air In June

The NHL held its inaugural Stanley Pup rescue dog competition in 2024. The event is similar to the annual Puppy Bowl, which airs the same day as the NFL's Super Bowl. 'We were thrilled with the success of the first-ever 'Stanley Pup' in 2024 and because of the amazing response from audiences watching at home, the NHL is excited to bring it back this season with even more rescue dogs,' said the NHL's President of Content & Events Steve Mayer in a statement. 'We love being able to support great causes and knowing that even more participating dogs will find permanent homes this year is very fulfilling for the league,' Mayer added. 'We can't wait to see what fun this year's friendly competition brings as the 'players' hit the Stanley Pup rink.' The 2025 Stanley Pup will feature special appearances by celebrity dog lovers, including Anthony Anderson, Cedric the Entertainer, Cheri Oteri, George Lopez, Jamie Lee Curtis, Joel McHale, Michael Bublé, Nikki Glaser, Paula Abdul and Will Reeve. According to the NHL, the 2025 Stanley Cup competition — which runs 90 minutes —will air on Friday, June 6, on TruTV at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT in the U.S. and Saturday, June 7, on Sportsnet at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT in Canada. The Stanley Pup will also air on NHL Network on Sunday, June 8, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT and will stream on the NHL's digital platforms. Actor Mark Shunock and sports commentator Chris Rose will be doing color and play-by-play commentary for the 2025 Stanley Pup, while New York Rangers sports host and reporter Michelle Gingras will be reporting from rinkside. Atlanta police sued by family of teen who accused ex-officer of sexual assault after crash
The family of a teen who said she was sexually assaulted by a former officer has filed a federal lawsuit against the Atlanta Police Department. The lawsuit alleges that the department has a history of 'ignoring sexual predators' and the city 'has not established or followed nationwide standards in screening recruits for employment.' [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] The former officer, Anthony Anderson, pleaded guilty in January 2025 to charges of improper sexual contact, false statements and violation of oath by a public officer. He was sentenced to 25 years with six to serve. It happened in August 2023 after the teen got into a car crash in Atlanta. Arrest warrants accused Anderson of forcing the girl to perform a sex act on him and assaulting her. The warrant also stated that he didn't allow medical personnel to check the victim for injuries. In the lawsuit filed on May 8, the family claims that Anderson had a documented history of misconduct before he was hired in 2015. 'Anderson's supervisors knew of and/or were deliberately indifferent towards Anderson's history of misconduct and deployed him in the field anyway, putting the citizens of Georgia — adults and children — at risk," attorneys wrote. The family said the teen has suffered severe trauma and has received voluntary treatment at a mental health facility. They are seeking compensatory and punitive damages. Channel 2 Action News reached out Tuesday morning to Atlanta police for a statement, but was told they do not comment on pending litigation. At the time of Anderson's arrest, APD's Chief Darin Schierbaum released the following statement: 'Not only am I disturbed and disappointed by these allegations, but it also angers me. We ask the public to trust us to do the right thing, to keep them safe. So, when one of our own is accused of despicable acts with a minor, it erodes that trust that sometimes takes years to build. You can be assured, I will act swiftly to investigate anytime allegations of misconduct are brought to my attention.
