Nebraska offers scholarship to top tight end
The Nebraska Cornhuskers have extended a scholarship offer to one of the top tight ends in the class of 2027. Four-star prospect Anthony Cartwright III made the announcement on social media.
Rivals has Cartwright as the No. 3-ranked prospect in the state of Michigan and the No. 6-ranked tight end in the class of 2027. Nebraska is the latest school to offer a scholarship, with the Michigan Wolverines viewed as the frontrunners.
The Huskers' offer comes after Cartwright made several campus visits in the month of April. He made a Big Ten swing by visiting the Wolverines on April 3, the Ohio State Buckeyes on April 11, the Oregon Ducks on April 19, and the Penn State Nittany Lions on April 26.
Nebraska is redefining the role of the tight end in its offense under offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen. If the Huskers are able to show increased production with strong player development under Holgorsen and tight ends coach Marcus Satterfield, they could find themselves in the center of Cartwright's recruitment sooner rather than later.
