Suspect in Coryell Co. pursuit found hiding in stock tank
Coryell County, Tx (FOX 44) – A 42-year-old man fleeing from deputies was found hiding in a stock tank after his truck was pursued across fields and down county roads near Mound in Coryell County Thursday night.
A criminal complaint stated that it all started when Coryell County Sheriff Scott Williams alerted deputies he had observed a wanted individual by the name of Anthony Cosper enter a house near him in the 3400 block of Coryell County Road 318. He told the deputies that the man had later gotten into a white Ford F-250 pickup and was leaving the house heading toward FM-3419.
The affidavit stated that when the deputy reached the area in a marked patrol unit and activated his overhead lights, the driver took off through the grass cutting toward FM-3419. The affidavit stated that when the pickup was evading and trying to get back onto the roadway he almost struck another deputy.
The pickup then was driven back through a field, turning and heading back to County Road 318. Deputies lost sight of him for a brief period then located the truck behind a residence in the 1900 block of County Road 318. The driver was not in the truck when deputies approached it. As deputies conducted an inventory of the vehicle they located a wallet with multiple cards with Anthony Cosper's name on them.
