A former My Kitchen Rules couple have been revealed as the television personalities facing serious offences against children in Queensland. Claudean Uamaki-Mu and Anthony Mu appeared on the 2023 season of Channel Seven's MKR, describing themselves as the "married battlers". They were charged with dozens of serious offences at the time the show aired. In August 2023, Uamaki-Mu, 54, was charged over allegations including indecent treatment of children under 16, rape, sexual assault and torture, which date back to 2005. Her charges were lifted in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Wednesday after Uamaki-Mu pleaded guilty to six historical common assault offences. The court heard she "kicked, hit and spat on a child". Other charges against her were dropped. Uamaki-Mu was sentenced to a $1000 fine and a 12-month good behaviour bond with no convictions recorded. The couple were surrounded by family supporters as they left the court, pushing through media. She has 12 other charges, including rape, unlawful assault occasioning actual bodily harm and indecent treatment, that she has been committed to stand trial on in the District Court at a later date. Anthony Mu's proceedings have been adjourned to a hearing some time in May.
