The Russo Brothers Reportedly Casting New Ghost Rider for AVENGERS
It was recently reported that Marvel Studios has pushed back the release dates for both Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars . The delay stings for fans, but there's a silver lining with more time for Joe and Anthony Russo to craft a great film, with the kind of colossal chaos they pulled off with Infinity War and Endgame . And as it turns out, they might be using that time to bring some literal hellfire into the MCU. On a recent episode of The Hot Mic podcast, insider Jeff Sneider dropped a flame-worthy tidbit: "I have heard this week that Marvel is casting the role of Ghost Rider. That's for Doomsday. I'm hearing that Ghost Rider is going to be in Doomsday." If this is true, I love that Ghost Rider is being summoned for the Avengers' next big story. But Sneider clarified this won't be a nostalgic revival. He said that this is the MCU's Ghost Rider, not the return of Nicolas Cage as the Johnny Blaze. It's worth noting that Ghost Rider has been circling Marvel's theatrical plans for a while. Rumors once suggested he'd appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day , which was originally set to debut between Doomsday and Secret Wars . Casting speculation is also in full swing, with Ryan Gosling. Back in 2023, during press for The Fall Guy , Horowitz asked Gosling if he'd be interested in donning the flaming skull. The actor responded: 'This was a magical moment. I told Josh I would like to play Ghost Rider. He found Kevin Feige, corners him, does an interview with him. When he says, 'I would like this,' all the lights go off.' When pressed again, Gosling said: 'I don't know.' To co-star Emily Blunt, who doubted he'd go full superhero, Gosling said: 'I would love to, it would be amazing. Come be in Ghost Rider.' At this point, there's no official word on who the Russos are looking at casting, but I imagine they are looking to go big. Whether it's Gosling or someone else, the inclusion of Ghost Rider in the film is going to be cool and If it's true, I'm curious to see how they utilize him in the story.

Marvel delays Avengers: Doomsday & Secret Wars — Here's why it matters
ALBAWABA - Marvel movies Doomsday and Secret Wars move from May to December in 2026 and 2027 Marvel Studios has chosen to delay its next two high-stakes Avengers movies by seven months apiece. Avengers: Doomsday moves from May 1 to December 18, 2026, while Avengers: Secret Wars shifts from May 27, 2027 to December 17 of that year. the delay is just to accommodate the 'gargantuan vision' of two films that will be 'among the biggest ever made.' (Or maybe Marvel is scared of GTA 6.) The films are being made back-to-back by directors Joe and Anthony Russo, who directed the two previous Avengers team-up movies and Marvel's two highest-grossing films: 2018's Infinity War and 2019's Endgame. Avengers: Doomsday is in production now. Marvel owner Disney won't have any concerns about moving the Avengers movies from their traditional early summer slots to the holidays. Spider-Man: No Way Home launched in mid-December 2021 and was a massive success, becoming the third-highest-grossing Marvel film. (Avengers: Doomsday's coveted May 1, 2026 slot will go to another big Disney movie, The Devil Wears Prada 2.) (L-R) Louis D'Esposito, Co-President, Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, President, Marvel Studios, Robert Downey Jr., Joe Russo and Anthony Russo (Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images for Disney/AFP) Still, the move reflects a shift from quantity to quality at Marvel Studios, which Disney CEO Bob Iger said during an investor call had 'lost a little focus by making too much.' After releasing only one film in 2024 (Deadpool & Wolverine), Marvel is putting out three in fairly quick success in 2025: Captain America: Brave New World, Thunderbolts*, and the forthcoming The Fantastic Four: First Steps. But then there will be a break of a full year — long by Marvel standards — before Spider-Man: Brand New Day in July 2026, followed by another yearlong break between the two upcoming Avengers movies. Disney has removed or swapped out several slots for 'untitled Marvel' projects in 2026 and 2027, though it has three slots in 2028 reserved for Marvel films. What these might be — indeed, what the future holds generally for the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Secret Wars — remains a mystery. The status of the Armor Wars movie is unknown, to say nothing of the beleaguered Blade, while plans for Shang-Chi and Black Panther sequels remain vague. Above all this looms the specter of a possible X-Men movie, which finally seems to be coming together. The two Avengers films ought to be more than enough to look forward to in the meantime. Marvel's announced cast for Doomsday is a multiversal pile-up of MCU veterans, newcomers from Fantastic Four and Thunderbolts*, actors from the legacy Fox X-Men movies, and wild cards like Channing Tatum's Gambit. The cast is led by Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, not Tony Stark. They really could go anywhere from here.

Marvel's next two Avengers films delayed
The Avengers will be reassembling later than planned. Disney has announced a delay for the next two instalments in the blockbuster Marvel superhero franchise, the first of which is now well over a year away. Avengers: Doomsday, which will see Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr return to the series as villain Doctor Doom, has been pushed from 1 May to 18 December 2026. Its follow-up, Secret Wars, will release on 17 December 2027. It had been due on 2 May that year. Read more entertainment news: The films have had a troubled production, having undergone extensive reworking after one of the intended stars, Jonathan Majors, was convicted of assaulting his ex-girlfriend. Both are being directed by brothers Anthony and Joe Russo, who helmed the previous two Avengers films - 2018's Infinity War and 2019's Endgame. The latter is the second-highest grossing film of all time, taking $2.8bn (£2.1bn) at the box office. No Marvel film has come close to that level of success since, with subsequent releases - from sequels to Thor and Black Panther, to fresher entries like Eternals and Thunderbolts - proving divisive. Next up is The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July, when it goes up against a new Superman film from rival studio DC.
