Libyan forces intercept 93 migrants
Libyan forces intercepted 93 migrants from Egypt and Sudan early Sunday as they attempted to cross the Mediterranean towards Europe.
The operation, carried out by a frogman unit from Haftar's forces at the Tobruk Naval Base in coordination with the Coast Guard, took place 48 kilometers northwest of the city.
According to the Tobruk Medical Centre, the interception was deemed 'successful', and the migrants were transferred to the naval base and handed over to the relevant authorities.
Several Sudanese migrants reportedly sustained injuries due to harsh travel conditions and received urgent medical care at the facility.
Medical teams conducted health checks in coordination with the Anti-Illegal Immigration Department in Tobruk. Authorities stated the operation was part of wider efforts to combat illegal migration and safeguard lives at sea. Tags: illegal immigrants
