Lafayette Parish Government, schools announce winners of annual Anti-Litter Poster Contest
Lafayette Consolidated Government, in collaboration with the Lafayette Parish School System and the Lafayette Garden Club, recently announced the winners of this year's Anti-Litter Poster Contest.
LCG said the annual initiative encourages students across Lafayette Parish to promote environmental awareness through creative artwork and slogans. This year, the contest received a total of 279 submissions from students across Lafayette Parish.
First place: Connor Graves, Green T. Lindon Elementary School
Second place: Samuel Melancon, L. Leo Judice Elementary School
Third place: Amelie Lambert, Milton Elementary School
First place: Manha Bux, Edgar Martin Middle School
Second place: Phung Nguyen, Milton Middle School
Third place: Jolie Jones, L. J. Alleman Middle School
First place: Sam (Harper) Faulk, Lafayette High School
Second place: Ramni Maya Manuel Roy, Lafayette High School
Third place: Alia Hdouch, Lafayette High School
Overall Best T-Shirt Design: 'Louisiana Litter Not Good For The Critter' by Sam (Harper) Faulk, Lafayette High School
Overall Best Slogan: 'Plant Love Not Trash.' By Alia Hdouch, Lafayette High School
Parents, teachers, students and school administrators are invited to celebrate the winners at the official award ceremony at 5 p.m. May 15 at the Lafayette Parish School Board Office, 202 Rue Iberville in Lafayette.
