One-time Vande Bharat service runs Jodhpur-Delhi route amid airport closure

Jaipur: The North Western Railway (NWR) Monday operated a special Vande Bharat from Jodhpur to Delhi via Jaipur to accommodate the rush due to closure of Jodhpur airport and its flights following the Indo-Pak conflict . The train that started at 2:50pm from Jodhpur was almost full and was planned to reach Delhi by 11:55pm. According to the NWR authorities, this remained a one-time operation towards Delhi as there would be no return journey of this train. Since the Jodhpur airport remained closed during the Indo-Pak conflict, the railway authorities said there was a demand for this train even as the Airport Authority of India (AAI) Monday announced the opening of the airport. Divisional Railway Manager, Jodhpur, Anurag Tripathi, said that considering the extra passenger traffic towards the Jaipur-Delhi route on regular trains and for their convenience, train number 04815 Jodhpur-Delhi Vande Bharat Superfast one-way special was operated via Jaipur. However, passengers travelling on this train said it should be made a regular train as from Jodhpur there is only one Vande Bharat between Jodhpur and Ahmedabad. "This should be made a regular train for its connectivity to the state capital and the national capital from Jodhpur," said Avinash Singh, who travelled on this train up to travelling on this train were elated as some of them remained stranded in Jodhpur since May 8 due to the flight cancellations. "We went to a wedding but had to stay back in Jodhpur for two extra days. This train journey has been pleasant so far," said Ramesh Rajpurohit, who travelled with family to Jodhpur on May 8 to attend a wedding and was returning to Delhi on this train. tnn
