Police officer charged with dangerous driving
A police officer has been charged with dangerous driving after a man was seriously injured when he was hit at a pedestrian crossing in Lincoln city centre. PC Aodan O'Neill, 27, was alleged to have driven a Vauxhall Astra police car dangerously on Broadgate on 4 November 2024, Lincolnshire Police said. He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday. The force said Mr O'Neill was currently on non-operational duties. Lincoln officer charged after hitting pedestrian with police car
A Lincolnshire Police officer has been charged with dangerous driving after hitting a pedestrian with a marked car. PC Aodan O'Neill, 27, allegedly drove the Vauxhall Astra dangerously on Broadgate, Lincoln, on 4 November last year. The vehicle driven by PC O'Neill collided with a man crossing a pedestrian crossing. The officer, who is based at Lincoln, has been summoned to appear at Nottingham Magistrates Court on Thursday. He is currently on non-operational duties.
