Hallowspring returns to Weston with a day of strange festivities
WESTON, (WBOY) — The celebration of Hallowspring 2025: The Carnival of Curiosities returned to Weston at Robert L. Bland Middle School on Saturday, bringing its signature blend of strange, spectacular and whimsical charm to town.
Designed as a springtime spectacle with Halloween spirit, Hallowspring has become a popular gathering for lovers of oddities, art, and eccentric entertainment. The festival-style event featured a packed day of unique attractions, including an array of vendors offering everything from handmade trinkets to rare objects.
Attendees were encouraged to wear costumes that are festive and creative. The event also hosted a costume contest with categories celebrating the magical, the eerie and the completely out-of-this-world. Attendees of all ages were invited to take part.

Owner of Appalachian Oddities and Organizer for Hallowspring Katy Perrine was happy to see the community come out and celebrate.
'At the gate we're an admission fee and half of those proceeds get donated back to the school. This is the first time we've worked with the middle school and we wanted to be able to support them,' Perrine said. 'It really is a day where you can come and be judgement free, and also Halloween costumes deserve more than one wear. So, you know people spend money on those and they should be able to wear them more than once and this is an event where they can do that.'
Vendor of Gothtistic Art from Kanawha County James White was happy to be in attendance.
'It's been an absolute blast, we've had so many different people come in today and just be awesome to talk to and hang out with, share the same interests in horror movies and Halloween, just fantastic.'
One of the highlights of the festival is the coffin raffle, which is a one-of-a-kind prize drawing that has become a quirky tradition. Live performances were also held throughout the day, featuring acts designed to mesmerize, surprise and delight.
