Farmers markets are opening
Buncombe County farmers markets are open. Nine markets in Buncombe County will continue to offer ASAP's Double SNAP for Fruits and Vegetables and Farm Fresh Produce Prescription*. Both programs expand access to fresh fruits and vegetables to more people. Learn more about how these programs work at

North Asheville Tailgate Market:* Saturdays, 8 a.m.–noon, UNC Asheville, Lot P34
Southside Community Farmers Market:* opens June 1, first Sundays, noon–3 p.m., 133 Livingston St.
West Asheville Tailgate Market:* Tuesdays, 3:30–6:30 p.m., 718 Haywood Road
Leicester Farmers Market: opens May 3, Wednesdays, 3–6 p.m., 2979 New Leicester Hwy.
River Arts District Farmers Market:* Wednesdays, 3–6 p.m., 350 Riverside Drive
Weaverville Tailgate Market:* Wednesdays, 3–6 p.m., 60 Lakeshore Drive
Enka-Candler Farmer's Market:* Thursdays, 3:30–6:30 p.m., 1465 Sand Hill Road
