Labour Ministry Undersecretary Inaugurates Career Day Event at ASU
Manama: His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, inaugurated the 11th Career Day event organised by the Applied Sciences University (ASU). HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman highlighted the continuation of the Ministry's efforts, in collaboration with relevant entities, to develop the training and education system in the Kingdom of Bahrain. According to Bahrain News Agency, HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman emphasised the aim to align educational and training outcomes with the labour market's needs for qualified national resources. He noted the importance of enhancing the role of career guidance and counseling to support the choices of graduates and job seekers and assist them in integrating into their professional lives. HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman highlighted the necessity for educational and training institutions to keep pace with the latest developments and trends in the labour market, as well as the emerging job patterns within it. Career Day aims to familiarise students with job opportunities in the private sector and help them choose the most suitable specialisations for the job market. University students and graduates can meet HR representatives from 51 public and private sector institutions and companies. The event also introduces the students to the Ministry of Labour's employment, training, and qualification programmes, offered in collaboration with the Labour Fund (Tamkeen). These national efforts aim to meet market demands for skilled Bahraini talent while ensuring that citizens remain the preferred choice in the job market.

In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Haitham Abu Khdeijah affirmed that these individual achievements were not limited to the individuals themselves but reflected on the overall status of the university, contributing to achieving global accomplishments. He added, "The hard work and dedication displayed by the honorees were key factors in the university's unprecedented successes. The university was ranked first among Jordanian universities and placed in the (501-600) range globally according to the 2025 Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Additionally, it earned a 5 STARS PLUS rating in the global QS STARS RATING, reflecting the university's commitment to the highest standards of quality in education, research, and academic services." This ceremony reflects the approach followed by the Applied Sciences Private University in fostering creativity and excellence and recognizing academic, research, and administrative efforts. It reinforces the university's position as a leading educational institution that contributes to preparing generations of graduates capable of making a real impact in their fields and continuing achievements that enhance the university's standing on the global higher education map.
