Shelter asking for help after Montgomery County animal rescue

GLENWOOD, Ark.- Last month, dozens of animals were rescued from a home in Norman, Arkansas. Authorities said five people were arrested and charged with animal cruelty in connection with that case. Apryl Falcon has made it her priority to help those dogs with her shelter, PAWS of Glenwood. 'We didn't have the resources, but we were going to find them,' Falcon said. 'Those dogs could not stay in that position.' Five arrested in Montgomery County animal abuse investigation After taking in 54 dogs, the rescue in Glenwood now houses over 100, a big change for a small shelter. 'It's been hectic, but we've been making it,' Falcon said. She now has multiple kennels and provides the pups with food and healthcare. 'Now it's rehabilitation, it's vetting medicine, a lot of them had respiratory problems, all of them had parasitic diseases,' Falcon said. Dozens of animals rescued from Montgomery County property Falcon said the shelter needs more kennels and help with building mini-insulated homes for the dogs to stay in. She said other things, like having more food and medicine, would also make a big difference. 'Anything anybody can do, any grants, any funding, any manpower, anything anyone can do to help us get our buildings built and fosters,' Falcon said. 'We need good, loving, responsible fosters.'
