Firefighters pull unconscious person from Santa Cruz motel fire
(KRON) — Firefighters with the Santa Cruz Fire Department rescued an unconscious person from a fire at the Aqua Breeze Inn on Second Street in Santa Cruz Sunday.
Heavy smoke was billowing from the motel's first floor when firefighters arrived on scene. Motel guests were seen running from the building and were screaming that one person was still trapped inside.

Firefighters pulled a firehose into the burning motel room and 'aggressively' extinguished the fire while searching for victims, SCFD said.
'Within seconds, units located the unconscious male in the room and carried him outside to waiting [paramedics],' SCFD said. 'Concurrently, incoming firefighters carried out a coordinated effort to ensure the fire had not spread to adjacent rooms while ensuring all occupants were out of harm.'
The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken by ambulance to Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz. There are no updates on the victim's condition.
