New Alamein Named Arab Summer Capital for 2025
The Arab Tourism Organization has officially named New Alamein City as the Arab Capital of Summer Tourism for 2025. The decision comes after the city met a comprehensive set of criteria, including excellence in management and planning, infrastructure quality, leisure and recreational resources, environmental preservation, safety, public health, and responsiveness to evolving tourism trends.
This prestigious recognition highlights the city's rapid urban and tourism development, its unique natural assets, cutting-edge infrastructure, and full-fledged hospitality services—making it one of the region's leading coastal destinations.
New Alamein's growing reputation as a top tourist hotspot is further reinforced by its vibrant mix of entertainment and cultural offerings, luxury international hotel chains, and its role as host to major festivals and events throughout the summer season.
Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Mr. Sherif Fathy, expressed pride in this Arab recognition, emphasizing that New Alamein's selection reflects Egypt's ongoing commitment to developing its coastal cities with a modern, sustainable vision that blends premium tourism with long-term growth.
He added that the ministry, in coordination with other stakeholders, will launch a rich calendar of cultural, artistic, and entertainment events throughout 2025 to celebrate the title and boost the city's appeal to tourists from across the Arab world.
The Arab Tourism Organization grants this title annually to one Arab city that demonstrates outstanding performance in beach and summer tourism. Previous winners have seen a notable increase in tourist numbers, as the title encourages healthy competition and fosters the exchange of successful tourism experiences across the region.
