Kuwait claims runner-up spot at Arab Shooting Championship
CAIRO, May 1: The Arab Shooting Championship concluded with Egypt dominating the overall medal tally, followed by Kuwait in second place and Qatar in third. The event featured competitions in pistol and air rifle shooting, skeet, and trap shooting for both men and women. Egypt led the standings with a total of 30 medals—11 gold, 13 silver, and 6 bronze. Kuwait secured second place with 12 medals, including 7 gold and 5 bronze, while Qatar claimed third with 10 medals (3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze). Bahrain ranked fourth with 10 medals, earning 1 gold, 3 silver, and 6 bronze. The Kuwaiti shooting team delivered standout performances, particularly in skeet and trap events. It clinched gold in both the men's team skeet and men's skeet competitions. The team also excelled in trap shooting, securing gold and bronze in the men's event, gold in the men's team trap, gold in the women's trap, and bronze in the women's team trap. Kuwait concluded its medal haul with a victory in the mixed team trap event, where Talal Al-Tarqi and Shahad Al-Hawal earned the gold medal.

Kuwait snatches 10m air rifle mixed team gold
CAIRO, April 27 (KUNA): Kuwait's shooting team claimed its first gold medal at the Arab Shooting Championship in Cairo, winning the 10m air rifle mixed team event on Sunday. Team head Abdullah Al-Barakat told KUNA that shooters Ali Al-Mutairi and Ritaj Al-Ziyadi secured first place, earning the gold medal in the competition. Al-Barakat praised the high level of marksmanship displayed by all participating teams and noted that Kuwait's medal count has now risen to seven. The championship, which features around 300 shooters from 19 Arab countries, will continue until May 1. Earlier, Kuwait's shooting team clinched two bronze medals in the air rifle events at the Arab Shooting Championship held in Cairo. With this achievement, the team has now secured a total of six medals, including two golds and four bronzes. In a statement to KUNA, Abdullah Al-Barakat, head of the Kuwaiti shooting team, confirmed that Ali Al-Mutairi, Abdullah Al-Harbi, and Saud Al-Subaie won the bronze in the men's 10-meter air rifle competition. Meanwhile, Maryam Al-Ruzzuqi, Retaj Al-Ziyadi, and Fajr Al-Dhubaib secured the bronze in the women's 10-meter air rifle event. The competition, which saw the participation of approximately 300 athletes from 19 Arab countries, continues to showcase the talent and dedication of the region's shooters.

CAIRO, April 26, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti shooting team captured two gold medals on Friday at the 2025 Arab Shooting Championship, currently taking place in Cairo. Kuwait's shooters — Saud Al-Kandari, Mohammad Al-Daihani, and Abdulaziz Al-Saad — claimed the gold medal in the men's team skeet competition, with Egypt securing the silver and Bahrain taking the bronze. In the men's skeet event, Kuwait's Abdulaziz Al-Saad added another gold medal to his country's haul. Qatar's Nasser Al-Attiyah finished second, while Bahrain's Tamar Al-Watta took third place. With today's results, Kuwait's medal count at the tournament rose to four — two golds and two bronzes — according to Saad Al-Suwait, a member of the Kuwaiti delegation. The Kuwaiti mixed team secured the bronze medal in the pistol shooting event at the Arab Shooting Championship, currently underway in Cairo until May 1. Abdullah Al-Barakat, head of the Kuwaiti shooting delegation, told KUNA that shooters Hamad Al-Namshan and Ghezlan Al-Hassan clinched third place after a tough competition against several Arab teams. The mixed team rifle event will kick off on Sunday, expressing his hope for continued success for the Kuwaiti shooters. In addition, the Kuwaiti women's shooting team claimed a bronze medal in the 10-meter team pistol shooting final on Thursday. The championship has drawn around 300 participants from 19 Arab countries.

Arab Shooting Championship a key step toward 2028 Olympics: Al-Otaibi
CAIRO, April 24: Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, President of both the Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations, highlighted the vital role of the ongoing Arab Shooting Championship in Cairo, set to continue until May 1, in preparing Arab marksmen for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Al-Otaibi expressed his pride in attending the prestigious event, stating, 'It is a great honor to be here in Egypt, the heartbeat of the Arab world, to participate in this significant sporting gathering that symbolizes unity, brotherhood, and noble competition.' He emphasized that the championship transcends sport, saying, 'This event is a powerful message of unity. Sports bring people together, and when Arabs come together on one land, we unite in love, peace, and ambition.' Al-Otaibi also acknowledged the unwavering support for sports in Kuwait, generously provided by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He noted the Federation's commitment to hosting key tournaments, including the successful event held in Kuwait last November under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. 'This current championship in Egypt reflects our continued dedication to excellence,' he added. Al-Otaibi also announced that another major shooting event will be hosted by the Moroccan Shooting Federation this coming September in the city of Tangier. Concluding his remarks, Al-Otaibi wished all teams success and progress, stating, 'May this championship mark another step forward in the growth and global recognition of Arab shooting sports.'

Egypt Will Host 2025 Arab Shooting Championship April 22nd to May 1st
Over 300 athletes from 19 countries will gather in Cairo for this year's biggest Arab shooting event. Apr 05, 2025 Egypt will be the host to the 2025 Arab Shooting Championship, which will take place from April 22nd to May 1st. The events will be split between the Sports Olympic Center in the Maadi neighborhood and the Shooting Club in 6th of October City. More than 300 male and female athletes and coaches from 19 Arab countries are set to participate. The championship will feature a variety of shooting disciplines across different age groups and categories. The previous edition of the championship featured over a hundred male and female shooters from nine Arab countries, including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Algeria, the UAE, Egypt, Mauritania, and was hosted in Beni Khallad, Tunisia.
