Twin Cities Mother's Day weekend guide: Plant sales, art fairs and "DJ rides"
Sunday is Mother's Day — and if you just panicked over your lack of plans, have no fear.
Whether you're in search of a great gift or looking for a spot to take her this weekend, here are some of our top picks.
🌱 For the gardener: It's a prime weekend for plant sales. Edina Garden Council's is Friday, West St. Paul has one Saturday, Pletschers' Greenhouses in New Brighton is Saturday-Sunday, and the massive Friends School sale is Friday-Sunday at the State Fair Grandstand.
Pro tip: All remaining plants at the Friends sale are 33% off on Sunday.
🤑 For the bargain hunter: Find a new treasure at the Kingfield neighborhood-wide garage sale in south Minneapolis from 9am-2pm Saturday.
If mom's a big reader, try the Plymouth Library's book sale Saturday from 9am-3pm. Books are $2 and under, and from 2-3pm, you can fill a bag with books for just $5/bag.
🖼️ For the art lover: The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden Art Fair returns for a second year Saturday-Sunday with over 180 local and national artists — plus food trucks, beer and wine, and a "botanical marketplace" with art featuring or inspired by plants.
