Brian Schottenheimer has made it abundantly clear the Cowboys' offense will lean heavily on the rushing attack going forward. But the trio of Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens have the capability to deploy a high-octane passing game. Heavier on the run than in recent years? Almost certainly (which will also help the play-action to be taken seriously), but don't expect a return to DeMarco Murray-esque levels of 30 carries per contest.

If some scouts thought Jaydon Blue showed an impatient running style at Texas and a prioritization of big plays over ball security, it may be because his opportunities always seemed to be threatened by the Longhorns' plethora of backs. His low usage rate is certainly a red flag, but it also explains a lot and may even be his saving grace. He's got a good excuse for his low mileage; maybe the Cowboys simply saw something that other teams in the draft didn't.

Edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku has insane pass rush skills, and he may have been the best pure edge in the entire 2025 draft class. He won't be overburdened in his first season, though, as there's a deep rotation at the position. But he could rack up six sacks or more for the Cowboys by the time the year is over.

The O-line's center and guards are set, but everything beyond that is uncertain. Tyler Guyton needs to improve or he risks getting benched again this season. And Terence Steele has been merely average for all but one season of his career. The Cowboys do have some experience as depth, including Asim Richards, Nate Thomas, T.J. Bass, Brock Hoffman, Rob Jones, Saahdiq Charles, and Hakeem Adenji. Matt Waletzko may be facing a tough road to the 53-man roster, however, and rookie Ajani Cornelius is looking to just make a first impression.

The mercurial wideout had said he would return to host his George Pickens Youth Football Camp in Pittsburgh this June, even after being traded to Dallas. But instead, he's working and bonding with his Cowboys teammates at the annual retreat organized by Dak Prescott. The Cowboys QB has notched his first clutch win of 2025. Earlier this week, Prescott teamed up with his brother Tad and backup Will Grier on the links against the guys from Good Good Golf. With the match tied at five-under, Dak stepped up and drained an incredible 65-foot birdie putt for the walkoff.

First, it's very much an extreme long shot, despite what the national media may push to generate buzz. But consider this: Manning has revealed he wants a real college experience, not just one year as the Texas starter. That means he'd be coming out in 2027... when technically, Dallas would have an escape clause in Prescott's contract. It wouldn't be pretty from a dead-money and cap standpoint, but it would be doable. And so the speculation will continue.

If the Cowboys are to make another notable roster move between now and the season opener, cornerback is the best bet. This roster projection allows for the addition of a veteran like Stephon Gilmore. If they choose to stick with who they have, Andrew Booth is likely the fifth CB, behind DaRon Bland, Shavon Revel, Jr., Kaiir Elam, and Caelen Carson (with Trevon Diggs starting out on IR).
