Lassiter named Louisiana Christian head soccer coach
PINEVILLE, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — The Louisiana Christian University (LCU) Wilcats coaxed Arick Lassiter out of retirement to be the next head coach of the soccer program.
Coach Lassiter last served in dual roles. Simultaneously working as the head coach of Holy Savior Menard High School and an assistant coach at LSU Alexandria.

The Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) is familiar territory for Coach Lassiter. In six seasons at Huston Tillotson University, the team finished first or second in the regular season every year and won the RRAC tournament two times. During this tenure, 30 of his players were named to the All-RRAC team, two players were named Offensive Player of the Year, and Lassiter himself was Coach of the Year two times.

Lassiter has deep roots in the soccer world. He was a member of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte team that made the NCAA Tournament in 1992. His older brother Roy was one of the top goal scorers in the early years of Major League Soccer (MLS), winning the first Golden Boot Award as the top scorer in the 1996 regular season. His nephew, Ariel, currently plays for the Portland Timbers and is a member of the Costa Rican National Team.
Lassiter will be the Wildcats' 11th coach in the last 27 seasons.
