Police: Man arrested in Fairfax after CVS employee, three officers assaulted
CITY OF FAIRFAX, Va. (DC News Now) — A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged after assaulting an employee at a business on May 2, police said Monday.
While trying to arrest him, some officers were hurt, authorities noted.
Just before 5:30 p.m., the City of Fairfax police responded to the CVS at 10090 Fairfax Boulevard for the report of a robbery in progress. Upon arrival, it was discovered that a man had assaulted an employee, destroying some of their property, before robbing the business, police said.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Ariel Figueroa, was located nearby and was placed under arrest. However, while arresting the suspect, police said he assaulted three officers and tried to take an officer's Taser.
Figueroa was treated at a hospital for minor injuries before he was detained. Police learned the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and also provided a fake name. The victim declined to press charges.
Figueroa was charged with robbery, three counts of assault on law enforcement, destruction of property and other related charges. He is being held on no bond.
