Mistake turns into $230k lottery win for Bella Vista couple
BELLA VISTA, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — A mistake while buying lottery tickets as a birthday gift turned into a $230,000 win for a Bella Vista couple. The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery says Darren and Lindsy L. won $230,000 in the May 7 Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) drawing. They claimed their prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center in Little Rock on May 14. The winning ticket was sold at Casey's General Store on Riordan Road in Bella Vista and the winning numbers were 6, 10, 14, 27 and 39. Family of 15 loses Goshen home in fire Darren L. told ASL that he bought the winning ticket as a birthday gift for his wife, but mistakenly purchased Quick Pick tickets for NSJ instead of Powerball tickets. 'It was actually a misunderstanding,' Darren said. Lindsy found she had won two days after the drawing while on a birthday retreat when she checked the winning numbers. The pair said they plan to go on vacation with their prize. The jackpot for Thursday's NSJ drawing is $85,000. NSJ tickets are $1 per play, and ticket sales cut off at 7:59 p.m. every day. Two Arkansas men win lottery prizes in recent Natural State Jackpot, LOTTO drawings
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Two Arkansas men won big in the recent drawings for the Natural State Jackpot and the LOTTO lottery games. Keith S. from Pulaski County won $460,000 in the Dec. 22 Natural State drawing. He bought the winning ticket from the Casey's gas station on White Oak Crossing in Maumelle. The winning numbers were 16, 26, 30, 31 and 33. Arkansas Scholarship Lottery scratch-off players win big across the state Lottery officials said Keith learned about his winnings one week after the drawing once scanning his ticket and seeing he had won more than $500. 'I didn't say anything to anyone,' Keith told lottery officials. 'I went home to check my numbers on the lottery's website.' After checking his numbers, he told his wife of the win. He said he plans to save his winnings for retirement, invest and share with his children. Batesville man wins $50,000 prize playing $20 instant game The Natural State Jackpot top prize for Friday night's drawing is $390,000. Davis Smith from Dermott won $25,000 in the Jan. 25 drawing. He bought the winning ticket at Cash's on Highway 65N in McGehee. The winning numbers were 1, 4, 10, 20, 23 and 34 with 17 as the bonus number. Lottery officials said Smith learned about his big win after a clerk told him he would need to visit the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center to receive his prize. Smith thought his prize would only be $1,500, but he learned that he had actually won a much bigger prize.
