Azeem powers Auburn to NCAA 4x100m gold again
KUALA LUMPUR: Azeem Fahmi has made history by becoming the first Malaysian to win back-to-back gold medals at the NCAA Track & Field Championships in the United States.
The 21-year-old sprinted to glory in the men's 4x100m relay alongside teammates Kanyinsola Ajayi, Dario Matau and Makanakaishe Charamba, helping Auburn University retain their title with a time of 38.33s in Eugene on Friday.
The University of Southern California took silver in 38.46, while Arkansas University settled for bronze in 38.72.
The Auburn quartet had earlier equalled the meet record of 37.97s in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
Azeem, who ran the first leg of the race, summed it up on X (formerly Twitter) with a post: "We did it again, no big deal."
