Tampa Bay Times brings newsroom to Armature Works with News & Brews events
We may have lost our newsroom in last year's hurricane, but Tampa Bay Times journalists are still here for you. Dozens of our reporters, photographers and editors live in the same neighborhoods they cover. Every day, they fan out to schools, county commission meetings and courtrooms, hop on boats or knock on doors to get information that keeps our community informed. And as we work to find a new office, we are bringing our newsroom to you. For the month of June, you can find some of our staffers working from a space at Armature Works in Tampa every Tuesday. We're calling it News & Brews: Grab a coffee from one of Armature Works' vendors and stop by to say hi. We'd love to hear your story ideas and tips about what's happening in your part of Tampa Bay. We'll be set up from noon to 4 p.m. on June 3, June 10, June 17 and June 24. We may continue this in other locations in future months, as well. Look for the following staffers and others: Mark Katches, editor of the Tampa Bay Times Colbi Edmonds, Tampa Bay regional reporter Emily L. Mahoney, energy reporter Michael Van Sickler, managing editor/news and engagement Kirby Wilson, senior politics reporter Michelle Stark, culture editor Max Chesnes, environment and climate reporter Teghan Simonton, data reporter/economy and health Allison Ross, assistant managing editor/local news Helen Freund, food and dining critic . . . What: Tampa Bay Times News & Brews Where: Armature Works, 1910 N. Ola Ave., Tampa When: Noon to 4 p.m. every Tuesday in June (June 3, 10, 17 and 24) What to know: Times journalists will be working in this spot and invite members of the community to stop by to share story ideas.
