Missoni announces residential real estate project in Portugal

Missoni is premièring on the Portuguese real estate market with Aroeira Collections by Missoni, a residential and tourism project developed in collaboration with Norfin SGOIC, one of the leading real estate investment firms in Portugal. Work on the project, for a total planned investment of €200 million, is scheduled to begin in Q3 2025, with completion by 2027. 'Bringing Missoni's aesthetics to life in a residential space was an exciting challenge. We wanted to create an environment that embodied our brand's distinctive art while maintaining a link with the surrounding landscape,' said Alberto Caliri, creative director of Missoni. The residential complex, an exclusive coastal oasis on the southern shore of the Costa da Caparica, is located in Aroeira, just 30 minutes south of Lisbon, and extends over 350 hectares. The centrepiece will be the Aroeira Collections Hotel, featuring 138 one and two-bedroom suites, 40 two and three-bedroom residential apartments, 24 two to four-bedroom homes, and 28 villas with three to five-bedroom configurations. The complex will also include a PGA championship golf course, a health club, two swimming pools, tennis and padel courts, a restaurant, children's play areas, and a reception desk open 24 hours a day. 'Aroeira Collections by Missoni redefines the concept of luxury residential properties with its unique fusion of fashion, design and architecture, curated by Alberto Caliri and renowned Portuguese architects Ana Costa, João Favila Meneses and Pedro Domingos. The complex has been developed with the utmost respect for the natural environment, maximising the play of light and shadow, and ensuring that the properties integrate harmoniously within the landscape. The interiors will feature Missoni's iconic patterns and vibrant colours in a blend of timeless elegance, paying tribute to Portuguese design through the recreation of Atelier Daciano da Costa's furniture,' Missoni said in a press release. The project's green design is in line with ESG principles and with the EU taxonomy for sustainable business activities: Native plant species will be used for landscaping, without importing earth from elsewhere, and the hotel's construction will follow the LEED certification criteria for sustainable buildings.
