Dubai Police Secures Global AI Certification in Major Milestone for Smart Policing
Dubai Police has become one of the first government entities in the world to earn the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 certification, marking a significant step forward in ethical and efficient Artificial Intelligence (AI) management within public safety. The certification, awarded by global body Bureau Veritas, was formally handed over during the World Police Summit 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. It was received by His Excellency Major General Ahmad Rafie, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Administration Affairs, in the presence of senior officials and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Issued for Artificial Intelligence Management Systems (AIMS), the ISO/IEC 42001:2023 standard outlines best practices for implementing and continually improving AI systems in organizations. It emphasizes responsible AI use, system reliability, and improved service quality. Major General Khalid Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence, said the achievement reflects Dubai Police's commitment to institutional excellence and global benchmarks in AI deployment.
