Suspect held for quizzing in elderly couple killing case in Prayagraj
Prayagraj: Cops on Tuesday claimed to have received vital evidences in connection with the Naini-based elderly couple killing case and detained a suspect for questioning. An elderly couple, identified as Arun Kumar Srivastava (65) and his wife Meena (60), were allegedly killed by unidentified miscreants inside their house at ADA Colony, Naini area, under the limits of Naini police station in trans-Yamuna pocket of the district on Monday evening.

Arun Kumar, who retired from the Transport Corporation of India (TCI) about seven years back was staying on the first floor of the house with his wife while a tenant was residing on the ground floor. DCP (Yamuna Nagar) Vivek Yadav told TOI, "A suspect has been detained on the basis of scientific evidences and CCTV footage, and police teams are questioning him."
Police, meanwhile, said the retired TCI official died on the spot while his wife succumbed to her injuries during treatment.
Police also said that the couple was attacked by miscreants with sharp objects and knives. No cash and valuables were stolen during the crime. Investigations are underway.
