Ministry of Education honours NMS for TIMSS 2023 excellence
The Honorable Minister of Education, Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma Honored New Millennium School by facilitating the school principal and science and mathematics educators for the outstanding performance of the students in TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) 2023. The school has been placed in the high category for Science and Mathematics. Even where there is a drop in International Average in 2023 TIMSS as compared to 2019 TIMSS, the NMS average has remarkably shown an upward trend. The school average in the TIMSS is much higher than the International Average. The results reflect the school's strong commitment to academic excellence, innovative teaching methods, and a robust STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum. TIMSS, conducted by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), is administered every four years and assesses trends in student performance across more than 60 countries. The assessment provides valuable data that helps schools and policymakers improve educational outcomes. The school management expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Education for giving an opportunity to be the part of TIMSS Exam and for facilitating the mentors by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma. Congratulating the students and staff, Principal, Dr Arun Kuumar Sharma said that the remarkable achievement is a testament to the hard work of the students, the expertise and commitment of the dedicated teachers, and the support of the school community. He further added that the school is proud to see its students not only meeting but exceeding international benchmarks in Math and Science. School Chairman Dr. Ravi Pillai and Managing Director, Geetha Pillai congratulated the students and their mentors for their commendable performance.

Students honour mothers in Bahrain celebration
A heartfelt tribute to the selfless love and dedication of mothers took centre stage at New Millennium School Bahrain on Sunday as the school hosted a special Mother's Day celebration. The event, organised on Sunday, saw students from KG II and Grade II engage in creative activities such as making Mother's Day cards and photo frames, preparing sandwiches and decorating cupcakes for their mothers. The campus radiated warmth as students and mothers came together for interactive games and joint activities designed to strengthen their bonds. Interactive celebration Mothers were invited to attend a special assembly, where the children's performances and participation added to the emotional atmosphere. The occasion provided an opportunity for students and their mothers to share joyful moments and create cherished memories. To include all parents, the school also hosted a parallel online celebration for the mothers of KGI and Grade I students. Through this platform, mothers were able to watch heartfelt expressions of gratitude and affection from their children, underscoring the strong values of family and community promoted by the school. Leadership appreciation Principal Dr Arun Kuumar Sharma shared his message of thanks, highlighting the indispensable role of mothers in shaping and nurturing the lives of their children. Chairman Dr Ravi Pillai and Managing Director Geeta Pillai praised the efforts of both students and teachers, commending the dedication that made the occasion memorable. NMS celebrates Earth Day
bahrain Continuing with its relentless efforts to sensitize its students about the environmental issues of the current time and to motivate them to wake up to their responsibilities towards Mother Earth, NMS-BAHRAIN heralded the Earth Day celebration on 22nd April. This year's Earth Day celebration at NMS saw the students participating in a gamut of activities designed to inspire, educate and help them make a tangible difference towards saving our planet. The spirited millennials actively participated in a series of activities that included Best out of Wastes, Poster designing, Slogan and Jingle writing, PPT and movie making, Making of Paper and T-shirt bags and Group discussions and speech delivery on issues of environmental sensitivity. The students adopted the Green NMS pledge and voiced their support towards making their school clean and Green. Students pledged to grow more trees and consume fruits and vegetables as part of their diet. They also pledged to reduce their consumption of packaged food and felt motivated to spread their message. Principal, Dr Arun Kuumar Sharma, in his message to the students touched upon the role of schools in instilling in the students the need to adapt to a sustainable lifestyle that promotes solidarity with nature. School Chairman Dr Ravi Pillai and Managing Director, Geetha Pillai appreciated the whole-hearted efforts put in by the students, teachers and parents in proving that in line with the vision for the school they were true patrons of responsible, committed global citizens.
