Al-Sheibani: Syria is for All Syrians, No Place for Marginalization

Baghdad-INA Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Sheibani said on Saturday that Syria belongs to all Syrians, with no place for exclusion or marginalization. Al-Shaibani said in a speech during the opening of the 34th session of the Council of the League of Arab States, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): 'The Syrian people remain steadfast in their Arab identity, and the Arab homeland is their refuge. We extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Iraq for its hospitality. What unites us is a shared identity and a common destiny. We wish Iraq success in presiding over the current summit." He described the gathering in Baghdad as a historic opportunity to renew unity and solidarity, emphasizing that Syria's vision is rooted in its Arab depth and that Arab unity is a fundamental pillar for building the future. Al-Sheibani welcomed the recent U.S. decision to lift sanctions on Syria, stressing that reconciliation requires justice. He reaffirmed Syria's commitment to its unity and rejected any foreign interference or becoming a battleground for others' conflicts. He condemned the Zionist attacks on southern Syria, highlighted Syria's commitment to the border agreement in the occupied Golan, and called for support to preserve Syria's territorial unity."

MOFA clarifies Al-Shaibani's visit to Iraq

Baghdad-INA The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs(MOFA) issued a clarification regarding the scheduled visit of Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al-Sheibani to Iraq. A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) stated that, "With reference to what was circulated in the media, the Ministry would like to clarify the following: The Syrian Foreign Minister, Asaad Al-Sheibani, had previously received an official invitation from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, to visit Iraq, and Minister Al-Sheibani expressed his desire to accept the invitation, which comes within the framework of discussing bilateral relations between the two countries and discussing regional security and political developments." It added, "The appointment of the visit will be determined after completing the necessary coordination between the two sides, in a manner that serves the common interests."
