Asean charts bold path to 2045 with Kuala Lumpur Declaration
KUALA LUMPUR: Asean leaders have signed the Kuala Lumpur Declaration on Asean 2045 – Our Shared Future, reaffirming their commitment to the principles of the Asean Charter and related instruments, in conjunction with the bloc's 10th anniversary.
The declaration will supersede Asean 2025: Forging Ahead Together, which was adopted during Malaysia's chairmanship in 2015.
It will serve as a new roadmap to transform Asean into a resilient, innovative, dynamic, and people-centred community, as well as a key engine of growth in the Indo-Pacific region by 2045.
