New Love Island host is former X Factor star who Simon Cowell made QUIT group to join rival band in brutal scenes
A NEW Love Island host is a former X Factor star who Simon Cowell made quit the group to join a rival band in brutal scenes. Just this week, Love Island Aftersun revealed two new TikTok stars are joining the ITV2 show. 5 5 5 One of which includes Ash Holme, who is best known as a content creator, but she also appeared on one of the nation's biggest talent shows in 2017. Ash had an unprecedented run on British singing extravaganza The X-Factor in 2017. She originally auditioned with her group NQ, who made it to Boot Camp before being dropped from the show. But the star pulled off a rare move when she ditched her band for a new group. The singer, who was 21 at the time, was kicked off the show but returned to join Simon Cowell 's imaginatively-named New Girl Band. NQ impressed the judges with their performance of Hey Mama before getting axed, but Simon said he wanted to bring Ash back. She looked slightly shell-shocked as she was led back on to the stage by host Dermot O'Leary after her group were cut from the show. After a quick rehearsal, Ash then performed with New Girl Band, before Simon asked her if she was willing to ditch NQ and join them instead. New Girl Band was put together by the media mogul just days earlier after all the girls were booted off the Boot Camp weeks earlier. He had once hoped they could be a female version of One Direction, but they didn't take off as he hoped. However, the group ended up getting knocked out at the Judges' Houses stage, with the contest being won by another Cowell outfit, Rak-Su. She has gained substantial popularity on TikTok since launching her account in 2020. Her rise to fame on the platform has been nothing short of phenomenal. The star's account @ash_holme has amassed an impressive 1.5million followers and a whopping 54million likes. Her ability to connect with viewers through her humour and relatable content has been a key factor in her rapid growth on the platform. Beyond her social media success, Ash has ventured into various aspects of the entertainment industry. Brand Partnerships Ash's influence extends to collaborations with global brands. She has partnered with massive companies including L'Oréal, Deliveroo and Amazon Prime. These partnerships underscore her marketability and appeal to a wide range of audiences. Impact and Influence Ash represents a new generation of entertainers who have leveraged their fame on social media platforms to build their careers. Her success on TikTok opened doors to traditional media opportunities, allowing her to expand her reach and showcase her talents to a broader audience. Her content, which often includes sketches and talking skits, resonates with viewers due to its relatability and humour. On Love Island Aftersun, Ash is set to join certified superfan Sam Thompson and former Islanders Amy Hart and Indiyah Polack. And another new face to the line-up is content creator Joe Baggs. 5 5
